Spring is coming and so is IFSS 2011

Greetings from me also. My name is Juho and I'm the Handyman, doing stuff there and helping people when I can. There's just few moths left before the symposium!

What comes to the IFSS, preparations for the event are going forward and everyone is really waiting forward to it. Some adjustment still needs to be done. IFSS 2011 is getting closer and spring is coming.

As you can see from pictures in the end, Finnish people are starting to do more activities outside. Days are getting longer and a bit warmer also, just a bit. It's actually so warm that some people cool down by swimming in the river.

Don't be afraid, we won't have snow and cold weather in summer. Hopefully. :P

IFSS 2011 blog opens NOW!

Hello everyone and greetings from freezing Finland!

Also welcome to the IFSS 2011 blog! International Forestry Students' Symposium (or IFSS2011 as I call it) is an event which gathers together ~150 students from all over the world. Just to give you glimpses on what's happening here now and what you can expect from your possible trip to Finland in August, the Organizing Committee decided to start writing a blog. I got the privilege (ok I begged) to be the messenger so if I'm bugging you please do not hesitate to verbally shoot me.

During these past few months the OC babes have been running around, screaming at each other and spending sleepless nights wondering what the he** they got into. Sometimes it feels like we're building up a gigantic 10 000 piece puzzle with no idea on how to find all the time and wit to finish it on time. However I have the feeling that this will be the best IFSS ever. I also sincerely hope that I can say "I told you so, haha!" in the end of August.

With these words I welcome you all to Finland - only 165 days before the party begins!
